This is a problem reported by many users, and many of them complain that despite of having a public post on Facebook, the Sharing Button is missing.
This problem also seen on sharing Instagram posts on Facebook, meaning that if you post from Instagram to Facebook, people can’t share them.
Why some Facebook posts are not shareable?
Here are some possible reasons why Facebook post is not sharable.
1. Facebook settings should be changed
There are three sections on Facebook settings that can be changed to make your Facebook post shareable.

- Tap on the your profile picture on top-right
- Find Privacy & Setting
- Go to Setting
- On the left menu, find Profile and Tagging
- From there active the share button
This is the same path on mobile apps.

2. The Post is private
We can’t share a Facebook post if it’s private. You can change the audience of that specific post, right from the Facebook itself, or you can set the future posts audience from the Settings section.
This should be very easy for everyone, so I won’t expand it more.
3. The Group is private
No one can share a post from a private group because of the privacy of the members. Even you cannot change the private group to a public one.
Here is the difference between sharing in two different groups, one is private and another is public.
4. The Post format is not sharable
I have seen some users can’t share memes. So, I assumed that there could be a limit to sharing some kind of posts on Facebook. Since we don’t have any extra information and reports on this, so If I find any more info in this section, I would add it to this response.
5. This could be a Facebook bug
Since some users reported that this issue is fixed within an hour, we assume that sometimes it can be related to the Facebook’s update or servers.
